The FEC organized an unemployed day to protest against the increase in uprisings, popular justice and vandalism of the population, regularly without the intervention of provincial authorities.

Socio-economic activities were paralyzed on Thursday, May 9 in the city of Yakoma in the province of Sud Ubangi following the unemplo day organized by the local Federation of Congolese Enterprises (FEC).

According to local sources, economic operators responded favorably to the organizers' call.

Civil society coordinator Yakoma Jean de Dieu Wulu confirmed in the media that shops, boutiques, stores, and markets have not opened their doors. He further explained that this unemployed day was organized as a protest against the increase in uprisings, popular justice and other forms of vandalism of the population, regularly without the intervention of provincial authorities.

On Tuesday, May 7, a residence belonging to an economic operator was set on fire and several properties damaged by the population following tension between communities, without any intervention from the National Police and other security services, our source pointed out.
